Sightseeing flights in the Beskids are normally organized from the base Helipoland airfield EPBA (Cieszyńska 317 street, 43-300 Bielsko-Biała city). Szczyrk can be an additional place to organize scenic flights, especially during the most intense operation of Szczyrk’s winter sports infrastructure during winter holidays and Christmas time.
It is possible to choose a different take-off and landing site for the helicopter than Bielsko-Biała or Szczyrk. The arrival at the individually agreed take-off / landing site is additionally payable in accordance with the flight time price list below. The agreed arrival can also be settled by reducing the time of the selected sightseeing flight (minimum 30 minutes) by the time needed for the arrival / return of the helicopter from / to the airport in Bielsko-Biała, including the time needed to start and stop the helicopter twice (about 10 minutes) ). For example, delivering a helicopter on an individual order from Bielsko-Biała to Szczyrk is a total of less than 20 minutes of flight.
Beskids – Szczyrk, Wisla, Bielsko-Biala, Zar Mountain – when can I take a flight?
Sightseeing flights in the region of Podbeskidzie and Beskid Żywiecki are organized by HeliPoland from the airport in Bielsko-Biała throughout the year, on all days with good weather. We periodically operate from the Szczyrk airfield and other take-off / landing sites, such as the Vistula city, which are available on individual helicopter order (the exact cost of ordering an individual sightseeing flights spot is determined individually on the basis of the price list below).
NOTE! Basic confirmation of the intention to station the helicopter by HeliPoland at the landing site in Szczyrk on selected weekends or days during periods of increased tourist traffic is possible up to about a week in advance. Final confirmation of the helicopter stationing according to the appropriate weather conditions is possible in advance of no more than 3 days. The helicopter arrives in Szczyrk from the main base in Bielsko-Biała. The arrival of the helicopter can always be ordered individually for a fee depending on the flight time and type of the helicopter.
How much does it cost to take a sightseeing flight in the Tatra Mountains?
The costs of flying a Robinson R 44 helicopter (up to 3 passengers on board) including all passenger seats are as follows:
- EUR 300 for a standard flight around Bielsko-Biała city with Szyndzielnia and Klimczok mountains or on route Bielsko-Biała – Szczyrk – Bielsko-Biała (duration about 15 minutes*, minor modifications of the route are possible with the consent of the pilot).
- EUR 600 for standard flight on route Bielsko-Biała – Międzybrodzie Żywieckie (Góra Żar, Jezioro Międzybrodzkie) – Skrzyczne/Szczyrk – Klimczok/Szyndzielnia – Bielsko-Biała or on route Bielsko-Biała – Ustroń – Wisła (ski jumps, president palace) – Skrzyczne/Szczyrk – Bielsko-Biała (duration about 30 minutes*, major modification of the route is possible with the consent of the pilot).
- EUR 1200 for a standard flight adding up the above 30-minute routes or any other route lasting about an hour of flight* (during this time the helicopter arrives e.g. to the western part of the Tatra Mountains and back)
Flights in the highest parts of the mountains (Skrzyczne) by helicopter Robinson R 44 are possible only under favorable weather conditions (adequate transparency of the atmosphere and weak wind).
The costs of flying a Eurocopter AS350 helicopter (up to 5 passengers on board) include all passenger seats are as follows:
- EUR 600 for a standard flight around Bielsko-Biała city with Szyndzielnia and Klimczok mountains or on route Bielsko-Biała – Szczyrk – Bielsko-Biała (duration about 15 minutes*, minor modifications of the route are possible with the consent of the pilot).
- EUR 1200 for standard flight on route Bielsko-Biała – Międzybrodzie Żywieckie (Góra Żar, Jezioro Międzybrodzkie) – Skrzyczne/Szczyrk – Klimczok/Szyndzielnia – Bielsko-Biała or on route Bielsko-Biała – Ustroń – Wisła (ski jumps, president palace) – Skrzyczne/Szczyrk – Bielsko-Biała (duration about 30 minutes*, major modification of the route is possible with the consent of the pilot).

The availability of the AS 350 helicopter at the airport in Bielsko-Biała is often limited and its use requires individual organization of a flight from the Katowice region for EUR 2160.
The AS350 helicopter is faster than the R 44 helicopter, which makes it possible to cover greater distances in the purchased time option, and thanks to increased tolerance to wind power, this machine is more suited to flights in the highest parts of the mountains.
What else is important in organizing sightseeing flights?
All the above-mentioned prices of scenic flights include the entire helicopter (all seats), regardless of the number of passengers. Free seats can be replenished at the helipad during ongoing flights, or if we have registered those willing to partially fill the helicopter, we will inform ourselves about the possibility of flying on the remaining free spaces.
Reservation of another helicopter type for the purpose of organizing sightseeing flights, e.g. Eurocopter EC 130 helicopter for 6 passengers, is priced individually (arrival of an EC 130 helicopter at a price of not less than EUR 2160).
* Flight time: according to international standards, it is the time from the moment the rotor blades begin to rotate until the moment the helicopter finally comes to a stop after flight and the rotor blades come to a stop.
** Note: in order to perform flights on agreed dates, in addition to the appropriate meteorological conditions, it is necessary to have the appropriate instruction of the pilot dedicated to the flight and the appropriate technical condition of the helicopter, which is verified in detail before each flying day or additionally before the flight. Helipoland is not responsible for keeping the agreed flight date, especially due to inadequate / uncertain weather conditions, pilot incapacitation or helicopter malfunction.
